Pet Portraits
Do you allow edits?
- To preserve the ugly nature of these pet portraits, I don’t allow edits. One exception to this is if I misspelled your pet’s name.
Can I have more than one pet in a portrait?
Yes, I can add as many as five animals per portrait.
How fast is delivery?
By the very next day.
Do you draw just dogs and cats?
No, I can draw any animal you consider a pet, whether it's your pet rock or your pet alligator.
Do you create pet memorials?
Yes, we can also add in special requests such as a small halo and/or wings.
Can I change my order after it’s been placed?
Yes, email portraits@butpoorlydrawn.com within the same day you placed an order being placed. After a drawing is made the next day, any changes will be considered edits which are not allowed.
Can I receive the portrait without a name?
Yep. Names are optional. The portrait text
also doesn’t have to be your pet’s name. It can be dates, quotes, or your pet’s nickname.
What makes a good photo?
We generally accept any photo as long as the photo isn’t tiny, blurry, or extremely dark/bright. Also we only accept jpeg, png, or any image format. Refrain from sending pet portraits in word documents or pdf files.
What are the dimensions of your digital prints?
Every portrait order will be sent in a jpeg and png file that can print in 8x10in (20.32 x 25.4 cm).
How long does it take to receive the pet portrait?
All orders placed before midnight (CST) will receive their order the very next day. After midnight (CST), orders will be delivered…the next day.
What is a digital download and how does it differ from a physical portrait?
A digital download is a high-resolution file of your custom pet portrait that’s delivered to your email — no physical item is shipped. You’ll receive a print-ready image that you can use however you’d like: print it at home, send it to a local print shop, or even turn it into gifts like mugs, cards, or canvases.
Unlike physical portraits, digital downloads give you:

Yes.

Returns & Refunds
Can I return my pet portrait if I’m unhappy with it?
Since it’s a digital download and it’s a custom order, returns are not allowed. If you are not satisfied with your order, we can offer a refund.
